Karen Yang
Founder
Karen is a graduate of FBISD's Dulles High School Math and Science Academy and is attending Harvard University. She put her dreams and visions into realities through various entrepreneurial startups, businesses, and non-profit work. Her interests range from the visual and performing arts to business related subjects to East Asian culture. Part time model and pageant queen aside, she also enjoys perfecting her skills in the art studio and on the dance floor. Her passion for serving others and helping kids motivated her to start this student organization in 2012. Since the, various We Care Clubs have spread to several schools in the Houston region. Karen currently works as a tutor, mentoring students in math and English. As a sophomore in 2013, Karen started the Dulles High School chapter of this organization.
Lauren Yang
Co-Founder
Lauren is currently attending Harvard University. She loves to learn everywhere, from math and science to art and piano. In the fall of 2011, she began to volunteer as a pen pal for Benavidez Elementary, a school that lacks proper education, and at Barton House, a home for senior citizens with Alzheimer’s disease, which opened her eyes to a world that has many flaws. Today, she strives to help stitch up the flaws by serving and giving back to her community. She is the president and founder of Girl Up Houston and the founder and Coalition Leader of the Girl Up Southeast Texas Coalition. She strives to make her dreams a reality and fight for the dreams of girls around the world.
Eric Peng
Fort Bend District President
Eric Peng is currently a Senior at William P. Clements High school. At a young age, he has started using his talents and interests to benefit his community. One of his strongest passions is music and is in the Clements High School Orchestra along with making it into the Symphony TMEA All-State Orchestra. Since age 12, he has started volunteering at nursing homes by playing cello and harp as entertainment for the residents. He is now president of two 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that have raised over $30,000 towards to UN organization, Girl Up. Eric is utilizing his passions to improve his community while also helping raise money for organizations such as Girl Up.
Natalie Wang
Fort Bend District Executive Vice President
Natalie Wang is a current rising senior at Clements High School. She is a cellist in the Clements High School Orchestra and has participated in All-State, All-Area, and All-Region string orchestras. Natalie is an enthusiastic student musician that wishes to assist the community in both musical direction and connecting with other members.
Michelle Wang
Fort Bend District Vice President
Hi! I'm Michelle Wang, a senior at Clements High School. I'm super passionate about art, business, and math. I love business and management, and am really oriented toward helping others, especially during COVID. I'm currently using my art to fund an organization that helps frontline workers. I'm a huge animal lover and I volunteer at my local animal shelter. This year, I'm really working on expanding We Care to be more than just music-oriented by introducing more activities and volunteering opportunities to a wider community.

Carson Sholar
I'm Carson Sholar and I'm the president and founder of We Care Act Travis! My We Care Act program focuses on promoting physical activity and connecting residents to local businesses! Outside of We Care, I am very dedicated to playing tennis, learning history, and also leading an LGBTQ+ support group at my school. I can't wait to make a difference this year one step at a time!
Maya Batra
Hi! I’m Maya Batra and I am a co-president and founder of We Care Act Elkins. I have always been into giving back to my community and using my time to help others. During a restricted time, we understand the importance of safety and health. We Care Act Elkins’ goal is to provide the youth of Elkins with safe ways to help within their community.
Stephanie Polackal
I’m Stephanie Polackal, a co-president for We Care Act Elkins! We introduced We Care to our school with the central goal motivate and encourage the youth at Elkins to make a difference in their communities. My other interests and passions include reading, writing, and volunteering in my community and church.
Jai Batra
My name is Jai Batra and I am the Vice President of We Care Act Elkins. Our goal is to provide volunteer opportunities for fellow students at Elkins. Outside of We Care, I am a Fort Bend ISD Student Leader, a Houston Foodbank Student Hero, and am involved in Elkins DECA. I hope to make a difference through We Care Act this school year.
